I recently had a chance to ask Erich Shaefer, co-founder of Double Damage Games, a few anticipated question: Though, no physical character will in-game, nor actual on-foot planet exploration, Double Damage Games is sure to bring a refreshing touch to space exploration in video game form. With so much freedom, it’s amazing how Double Damage Games was able to take on such an enormous challenge as a new studio.Ĭontrolling one of many space ships, varying in size– from moderate to massive– players deep within the vast ocean of space will find themselves traveling from system to system, uncovering the story,mindlessly exploring limitless reaches, and drinking in spaceship pubs.
But there is a nice freedom to take a piece of each of those if so desired. Three “paths” will let the player decide how to choose to play Rebel Galaxy: Roguish do-gooder, crafty space-trader, or power-hungry privateer. Just go along with it!!ĭescribed as an “action-packed, swashbuckling space opera,” where the player will have a chance to battle pirates, explore, make relationships, scavenge battle wreckage, mine, and go all Indian Jones with artifact discovering. It vacuums things away! Such as those other games I just mentioned compared to Rebel Galaxy. Think that’s epic? In sheer size, Rebel Galaxy vacuums them away! … You know? Vacuum… That strange thing Space does when exposed.
Founded by Travis Baldree and Erich Schaefer, Double Damage brings an immense line of experience from video game entertainment previously, the duo have shown their talents on such hit games and franchises as “Fate”, “Mythos”, “Diable and Diablo II”, and “Hellgate: London”.
